For example, Rebecca Laird (left) organised the Lairds Ball at Aberdeen's Ardoe House Hotel last year and raised more than £8,000, which was divided between UCAN and the RNLI.

She chose UCAN as a beneficiary as her grandfather had prostate cancer.
